SAN RAFAEL, Calif. — After a nationwide search, Dominican University of California has found a new Athletic Director in Brandon Leimbach. Previously, Leimbach worked as Associate Director of Athletics at Colorado School of Mines. President Marcy and university staff are confident Leimbach experience and leadership will help Dominican athletic teams reach new levels of competition in NCAA Division II.

At Colorado School of Mines, Brandon was in charge of the Athletic Department’s development in areas such as facilities, budget, relationships, and management. He was also the sport administrator for football, men’s and women’s basketball, wrestling and baseball. With the new Kennelly Field built on Dominican’s campus, many opportunities have opened which Leimbach hopes to capitalize on.

At CSM, Brandon was the project coordinator for their $21 million Clear Creek Athletics Complex and was also a factor in developing a $26 million student recreation center. His experience in these two projects can benefit Dominican.

Leimbach has  a lifelong interest and commitment to sports and athletics. During his teen years, he was named Male-Student Athlete of the Year as a senior at Fountain Valley High School in Huntington Beach, California where he played football and basketball. He has also been an assistant director of Intramural sports at the University of California Irvine. With his resume the Dominican Athletics Department finds a good fit, and the future  looks bright for Leimbach and Penguin teams.
