Institute for Leadership Studies presents Isabel Allende

SAN RAFAEL, Calif. — Tuesday, April 23, internationally acclaimed author Isabel Allende will discuss her new book, “Maya’s Notebook,” during an appearance at Dominican University of California in the sixth installment of the Institute for Leadership Studies’ lecture series. The author of 19 books that have sold more than 57 million copies and been translated into 35 languages, Allende has received numerous awards and achievements including international honorary doctorates for her work in more than fifteen countries.

The program will start at 7 p.m. and doors open at 6.p.m. in Angelico Hall. Admission to this event is free with the purchase of “Maya’s Notebook.”The book retails for $32.

The Leadership Lecture Series is a collaboration between Domincan’s Institute for Leadership Studies and the local retailer Book Passage.  Lectures and presentations feature some of the country’s leading figures from subjects as diverse as business, literature, and politics. This semester  ILS has hosted authors Al Gore, Dr. Cecil Williams and Janice Mirikitani, Maedeleine Albright, Gavin Newsom, and Mary Roach.

The final lecture in the series will feature naturalist and popular author Michael Pollan.
