Final Perceptions (Open Mic)

SAN RAFAEL, Calif. — Calling all musicians, poets, and singers! The final Perceptions is on May 2 and it may be the final time you’ll see graduating senior Gerard Cabarse and others!

For those who are not familiar with the event, Perceptions is a chance to take the stage and display whatever talent you may have. You can read your poetry, sing a song or two with friends or go solo, or play with your band. It is up to you how you want to express yourself!

What if I do not want to perform?

No matter! Invite as many friends to come with you to join in the festivities to honor talent and say goodbye to those who won’t return in the fall.

Come to Fanjeaux Student Union on May 2, right next to the student book store in the Fanjeaux dorm building from 8:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.

About the author

I was born in Guadalajara, Mexico – a very Americanized city where the people are powered by Starbucks, available conveniently on every street corner. Then I moved, and grew up in the strangest place on Earth, Humboldt County. I was only three when I moved to the States, however I did come back to Guadalajara every summer up until my teen years. The two places are polar oposites – you can imagine my difficult time trying to find a personality in home influenced by Mexicans and a social life influenced by Americans. Today I live in San Rafael, California studying Communications. But enough selling out – I’m a laid back guy who loves pizza.
